About TEACH

Our Mission

Our mission is to help diverse talent explore the teaching profession, so we can find the next generation of teachers and ensure our nation’s students have the teachers they deserve.

    Our History

    • In 2015, TEACH (aka, TEACH.org) was formed by the U.S. Department of Education into an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The U.S. Department of Education maintains a seat on the nonprofit’s Board of Directors.

    Our Approach

    • TEACH partners with State Education Agencies (SEAs), educator preparation programs, and school districts to deploy a statewide “Comprehensive Teacher Recruitment System (CTRS)” that is customized for each partner state. We do not have a national footprint; we only serve the states where we have an official partnership with the SEA.

(Note: TEACH.org is a site with national information about teaching, but it doesn't represent TEACH’s core model (the CTRS we deploy in our partner states) and doesn't tell you about the nonprofit behind the site. For information about either of those topics, please fill out the form below.)
