Minnesota Student Teachers in Shortage Areas Grant

Description

This grant is available if you plan to teach in a Minnesota shortage area or rural school district after earning your teaching license. It offers a one-time award of up to $7,500 for undergraduate or graduate students in their final student teaching semester. 

To be eligible, you must: 

  • Be enrolled in an approved teaching program that requires a student teaching placement lasting at least 12 weeks  
  • Be pursuing your initial teaching license 
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Not be in default on federal or state student loans
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Meet one or more of the following requirements:
