Description
This grant is available if you plan to teach in a Minnesota shortage area or rural school district after earning your teaching license. It offers a one-time award of up to $7,500 for undergraduate or graduate students in their final student teaching semester.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be enrolled in an approved teaching program that requires a student teaching placement lasting at least 12 weeks
- Be pursuing your initial teaching license
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Not be in default on federal or state student loans
- Demonstrate financial need
- Meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Intend to teach in a designated rural school district in Minnesota.
- Intend to teach in an identified license shortage area.
