Minnesota Underrepresented Student Teacher Grant

The Minnesota Underrepresented Student Teacher Grant is available if your background is underrepresented in the Minnesota teacher workforce. You can receive a one-time award of up to $7,500. 

To be eligible, you must:

• Be enrolled in an approved teaching program that requires a student teaching placement lasting at least 12 weeks  
• Be pursuing your initial teaching license 
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress
• Not be in default on federal or state student loans
• Demonstrate financial need
• Come from a background that is underrepresented in the Minnesota teacher workforce.
