Why I Teach
Teaching was a natural instinct for Barron. He started teaching in high school by going to the neighboring middle school to help prepare those students to come to the high school music program. Around his senior year of high school when he stopped playing football, he quickly realized he wanted to be a music teacher.
“I enjoy educating young minds and inspiring people to find their own path,” he said.
Barron attended college at Southern Methodist University, pursuing education and performance degrees. After graduating from SMU, Barron earned his master’s degree in New York and traveled the world performing in operas from Milan to Paris to Sydney and Japan. But eventually he made his way back home to Cedar Hill, Texas.
Barron contemplated becoming a professor at a university, but realized his enjoys teaching in K-12 public schools and in his own neighborhood.
