Tuition Rates by Enrollment Type

Here’s a quick look at the tuition rates for Augsburg University undergrad programs, based on how you enroll:

• Traditional Full-Time Day Students: $45,992 per year
• Traditional Part-Time Day Students: $1,439 per credit
• Adult Undergraduate Students: $490 per credit

There is no application fee. 

Year one: Start your education journey with coursework and field experience. Apply to the education licensure program.

Year two: Continue building your knowledge and classroom experience. Meet with your faculty mentor to talk about your goals and learning progress.

Year three: Get ready for student teaching by continuing coursework and field experience. Check in with your faculty mentor to discuss student teaching. 

Year four: Finish your remaining coursework and field experience. Apply to student teach and for graduation. Meet with your mentor to prepare for student teaching.

Teaching License Preparation: Complete a minimum of 12 weeks of student teaching with support from a cooperating teacher and university supervisor. You’ll also complete a performance assessment and apply for your teaching license.

Field experience is a key part of your journey to becoming a licensed teacher at Augsburg. 

You’ll spend time in K–12 classrooms, working directly with students and learning from experienced host teachers who mentor you as you grow into your role as an educator. With support from licensed teachers and university staff, you’ll gain real-world classroom experience and build the confidence and skills needed to lead your own classroom.

The Augsburg University Education Department is committed to preparing knowledgeable and responsive teachers who are ready to support all learners in a diverse and changing world. 

You’ll take courses that explore the root causes of educational inequities and learn how to address them through culturally relevant teaching. You’ll also learn how to create inclusive, accessible learning experiences for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Augsburg’s Education Department emphasizes strong mentoring throughout your coursework and clinical experiences. You’ll work with a dedicated education advisor to create a personalized learning plan, and connect with faculty mentors to reflect on your professional growth and personal goals. 

During student teaching, you’ll receive one-on-one support from a master cooperating teacher and an experienced university faculty supervisor, while also participating in a coaching seminar to help you grow as a teacher.

Augsburg University works closely with Minnesota’s Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board to ensure its teacher preparation programs meet or exceed licensure requirements. 

The university also engages in ongoing assessment of program outcomes. Through strong partnerships with K–12 schools and districts, Augsburg provides you with rich, supportive clinical experiences as you prepare for a career in education.
