The Teacher Education Program at Gustavus Adolphus College participates fully in both federal and state-level teacher loan forgiveness, cancellation, and grant-to-loan programs.
Minnesota Student Teacher Grants: During your mandatory student teaching semester at Gustavus, where tuition is halved, you can apply for the Minnesota Student Teacher Grant. This grant offers up to $7,500 in non-repayable aid to students in approved teacher preparation programs who plan to teach in Minnesota's high-need areas or who are from underrepresented backgrounds.
Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
Work-study is widely available, and you can absolutely work while enrolled at Gustavus Adolphus College. Roughly 70% of all students hold an on-campus job at some point during their time at Gustavus.
