About

From our roots as an 1890 land-grant university, North Carolina A&T has expanded and adapted to become an institution well suited for the 21st century and beyond. We believe in the power of our students to solve problems, both local and global, through technology, business, engineering, the arts and other endeavors. The institution serves over 12,000 students. Additionally, N.C. A&T is proud of its more than 60,000 alumni of record who occupy leadership positions around the world.

N.C. A&T graduates the nation’s largest number of African-American engineers at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels, as well as the most African-American psychology undergraduates. Through our College of Business and Economics, we are also among the largest producers of African-American certified public accountants. In addition, N.C. A&T is the only historically black college or university (HBCU) in the nation with a doctorate in rehabilitation counseling.

N.C. A&T produces 21st century professional educators who are committed to teaching and learning in a pluralistic global society by creating responsive learning environments that challenge students to think critically, collaborate, communicate and serve mankind. Building on our HBCU legacy of exemplary teaching and scholarship, as well as effective public service, we offer degrees at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels. The College of Education also offers an initial license program that students may enter after two years of college and via various graduate programs.

Our program has professors who are invested in us while we are in the program and after we complete it. There are plenty of times when I called on my professors to get advice my first year in the classroom. They were always willing to help no matter what.
