
Pratt Institute is a private, nonprofit college founded in 1887 by Charles Pratt with a mission to make a rigorous, affordable education available to students of every background. Based on a 25-acre campus in Brooklyn, with an additional location in Manhattan, Pratt is ranked among the top art and design colleges in the world. Pratt's School of Art is home to the Art and Design Education (ADE) department, which prepares artists and designers to become K-12 visual arts teachers. ADE offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a New York State teaching certificate, a three-semester Master of Art (MA) with an initial teacher certificate, a five-year combined BFA/MA, and an Advanced Certificate for Master of Fine Arts (MFA) holders.You will teach real students at Pratt's Saturday Art School, a youth art program that has run continuously since 1897, giving you hands-on experience long before you enter your own classroom.

Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
Federal Work Study and Student Help programs are for students with financial need who must earn an income to offset educational expenses. Work study jobs are available to undergraduate and graduate students.
Work study offers of hourly pay rates and students are paid bi-weekly.
All assistantships and fellowships originate from each graduate program and are assigned by the graduate program director.
