Here is a general overview of the undergraduate teacher education program:

• Year 1: You’ll complete beginning education coursework and get early exposure to classrooms through observation and assisting teachers.
• Year 2: You’ll complete core education coursework and continue hands-on teaching experience in local schools. 
• Year 3: You’ll complete advanced education coursework and take on more responsibility in the classroom, including planning and teaching lessons.
• Year 4: You'll experience student teaching full-time in a local school and complete the New York State teacher certification requirements. You'll also graduate! 

You will complete more than 400 hours of supervised hands-on field experience in local classrooms. Field experience starts in your first semester and continues every semester, culminating in a student teaching experience in your final semester.
