You begin by building a strong foundation in child development, classroom management and educational psychology. Through early classroom observations, you start connecting theory to real teaching environments.

As your knowledge grows, you develop practical teaching skills in curriculum design, instructional strategies and educational technology. You also begin assisting in local classrooms, putting your learning into practice.

With a solid foundation in place, you focus on your chosen path such as elementary, secondary or special education. You take on greater responsibility in the classroom while continuing to deepen your expertise.

In your final year, you step fully into the role of an educator. Over two semesters of student teaching, you:

• Lead lessons and manage the classroom
• Refine your teaching practice through hands-on experience
• Complete your capstone project
• Prepare to graduate and apply for your teaching license
