Trinity University
About
Trinity is a private liberal arts university located in the heart of San Antonio, with over 150 years of experience providing quality education and shaping important leaders. Two of Trinity’s main goals are clear in its teacher preparation program: developing leaders with strong character and making a positive difference in the San Antonio community.
A key idea in Trinity’s teacher preparation program is that good teachers are always learning—about children, how they learn and how to teach well. Teaching is called “the learning profession” because teachers keep growing by asking questions throughout their careers. Instead of just giving information for students to memorize, teachers listen to understand their students’ thinking. Students also ask questions and explain their ideas as they solve real problems.
Program Highlights
- Graduates have a 100 percent pass rate on the PPR exam (how to teach and manage a classroom) and Content Certification exams (knowing your subject).
- Graduates get hired 100 percent of the time after graduation.
- Trinity is proud to partner with Raising Texas Teachers.
