The University of Kansas School of Education was recently ranked eighth in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Public Education Schools. The University of Kansas (KU) offers future teachers several undergraduate program options for initial licensure: Elementary Education, Unified Early Childhood, Middle Level Science, Middle Level Math, Secondary English, Secondary History & Government, Foreign Language, Health & Physical Education, Visual Art Education, Music Education, and Secondary Mathematics or Secondary Science through UKanTeach. Coursework fulfills the requirements for a bachelor's degree as well as recommendation for an initial teaching license in Kansas. It's a two-for-one program at KU.
The KU School of Education is accredited under the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) Standards through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Accreditation System.
