The undergraduate teacher education programs at Western New Mexico University are designed to help you become a licensed classroom teacher while earning your bachelor’s degree. You can choose from online, hybrid or on-campus courses. 
Licensure programs are available in: 

  • Early childhood (birth- grade 3)
  • Elementary (kindergarten- grade 8)
  • Secondary (grades 6-12) 
  • Special education (Pre-K- grade 12) 

You will learn how to become a teacher who focuses on the whole child, understanding that teaching involves more than just content. You’ll develop practical, hands-on skills that will make you a highly effective educator.
